Her name is Lily...
Lilies is her favourite flowers...

I wanted to shaw contrast in the painting. The fatal bright woman and gentle fragile flowers. ..

Very nice, yet again  flowers look cool :D

04-08-2003, 01:38 PM
Nice work!

04-08-2003, 02:44 PM
generally i like your pics maria! ..well in this imo the face lacks character and ...please don't take offense...imo her mouth, especially her teeth remember me of a rabbit...sorry if that was too harsh...on contrary the hair and those flowers are just awesome:bounce: ...keep it up

04-08-2003, 02:46 PM
omg... amazing! it belongs on the front page and the gallery!!:buttrock:

I Like.

04-08-2003, 04:04 PM
you certainly churn the piccies out, do you have your own brushes made up in photoshop or something ???

Reason I ask is cos' the chainmail type effect around her shoulders looks flat and don't give the impression of wrap around, nice stuff again tho'...

She does remind me of Page 3 lassie Jordan...

04-08-2003, 04:08 PM
...yeah, she does a bit, at first glance...

04-08-2003, 04:10 PM
I like this piece a lot, nice use of colors! I think perhaps her lips could use some work, since they seem a little flat, and perhaps maybe a small adjustment on her teeth, since they indeed look a little off, on close inspection. But its a wonderful piece of work, aside from the small comments i gave!

04-08-2003, 04:28 PM
Good work Maria. Her left eye seems to be a little to high up compared to her right but apart from that it looks great :)

04-08-2003, 04:32 PM
i like it but i think the mouth could use some tweaking

04-08-2003, 04:46 PM
very nice, however I have to agree that certain elements look a bit flat such as the bracelets (or whatever they are) up around her arms.

04-08-2003, 04:51 PM
Amazing work as usual, you know well capture the gaze, i'm always impressed by that.
The hair and flowers are really nice. :airguitar

04-08-2003, 04:53 PM
her face...or maybe it's just her nose, looks too two dimensional. but it's safe to say that you reached your goal. there's plenty of contrast in this piece. great job :)

was your major illustration at the academy?

Once again you have shown a stunning piece. The flowers and the hair look gorgeous. It is truly a wonderful piece. The only comment I would have is the face... I would have liked to have seen a little more detail and definition in the face.

Another stunning work from a stunning artist.

04-08-2003, 05:33 PM

04-08-2003, 05:38 PM
Very well created. As stated erlier, looks like there is not the expression in the lips or the face. Overall, great picture, I love it :p

*great flowers too !

04-08-2003, 05:44 PM
Nice!! haven't seen this one before :)

04-08-2003, 05:51 PM

04-08-2003, 06:05 PM
Could we see the wireframe please :p

04-08-2003, 06:25 PM
I had to reply to this one. Now, judging by my art I doubt anyone would think I have these tastes, but heheh I love this. The face sort of reminds me of a Gustav Klimt and those flowers definately have the appeal of Georgia O'Keefe... especially the pastels. Great work!

Hi Maria ,

I really like this one , especially the eyes. But there is something about the mouth that doesnt look right , it looks two dimentional while the rest looks 3d. Maybe because of the shading , i cant tell.

Is this a life drawing from one of your friends too?

04-08-2003, 07:09 PM
At first I want to tell THANK YOU for all!:)
I draw very much in the last time and have many new paintings:)
I draw this portrait only in Painter 7...

To teknotek83:This picture I draw expesially for my friend`s birthday! :)

To The Magic Pen:No...It`s not a self-portrait!
My self-portrait you can find in my portfolio on the GFXArtist.com.

To ZeroNeuro:Thank you! This comparison is very flatter for me!

To Sheep Factory:
Hi Ali!
No, this wasn't a life drawing of a friend, but rather an image of a "femme fatale". I think her features are quite resemblant of a Spider-woman.

"Hola María"

I saw you work and i like much, can you in your next tutorial project show us how can you make that beatiful hair :wavey:

04-09-2003, 04:32 PM
Vert well done! I was looking at your web site. Great portfolio. I think this one is my favorite.

04-09-2003, 07:31 PM

Very good work. I couldn't do it myself I think. I can't draw, but I know how things are supposed to be drawn, haha.

Let me tell you what I think should be fixed (which doesn't necessarily mean you SHOULD fix it). The mouth looks like you're looking at it straight from in front. You need the upper lip to overlap the other a little to show foreshortening and perspective. Right now it almost looks like she has a slight under bite which is not attractive. If she has an under bite, why not give her some moustache too? :)

Second, I am not a big fan of those chain-looking things around her arms. They don’t seem to wrap around her arms. It is kind of the same problem as with the mouth. The chains need to be foreshortened as they wrap around.

The flowers are great, her hair is really good too. Nice colors I think. If you want to go wild maybe you should have her hair come in to the foreground. The whole composition is happening in midground which may be a little dull. Or have an arm stretched out to the foreground and then make the hair swirl back behind her. I am just giving you some suggestions.

Good luck! I like it so far!

very nice

Oh,Thank you:)
It`s so pleasure for me to read your comment and responces!!!

04-12-2003, 12:16 AM
Once again Maria, incredible work! SOme mentioned the lips which I tend to agree on, but what bugs me most, is the dress around her shoulders. I think the shadows are way too soft and it's making the material seem to float. But it's another quality piece
