It's a futuristic multiplayer First Person Shooter mixed with a detailed land/air vehicles. The Directx9 pixel-shaded graphics that we've created is extremely powerful, essentially on par with Doom3 (and better, in some aspects). We're still early with the art content, but are now putting together a showstopper of a demo that we'll first be testing internally and then enhancing for the press. At the bottom of this post are some screenshots and images taken at various points in Helix Core's development thus far.
We're seeking weapon and level texture artists for the team, to help us complete this demo and onwards to the final game. The code is there, the models, the gameplay, but we need the master touch of a talented 2d artist to help us polish it up and make the game truly shine. With the technology we have, every frame of the game can in principle be as beautiful as a 3dsmax render. Extensive pixel shading and unified lighting is the future of games, & we're there now. And the frenetic vehicle-oriented multiplayer team gameplay is pretty damn cool too ;-)
As we're indie, this is not an immediate pay position. Any royalties after the game's publication later this year will be distributed equally among all on the team. We have been working very hard to make sure that this game goes far, so if you're in a position to make this game with us, get in on it now!
