Have a few Mudbox questions, new to it...but not Max.
Plan is to make a low poly character in Max, detail him in Mudbox, then put it back into Max for a render.
When texturing, is it best to texture the low poly model in Max?, but if you then make him detailed in Mudbox and bring back to Max....will Mudbox remember the UV's after being sub-divided?
Or is this wrond way of doing things? and I should look to Bake a Normal map for use in Max always?
Normal maps. Is this correct?
1. Make a low poly man
2. Texture him on 1 square texture, making sure UV's are clean, not over lapping and laid out well.
3. Use the baking in Mudbox from Low poly model to High poly model (.OBJ's)
Will this make a clean good Normal map? Or are there tricks I should know. Mudbox crashes alot, so thinking what are the best settings for this. e.g 950,000 Polys in Mudbox. How big should I make the normal map .TFF?, are there any settings I should change?
