10 October 2007, 12:03 PM

Hi there!

I'm Michael, currently studying "Digital Artist" at THE GERMAN FILM SCHOOL (

Last semester we produced the CG music video "Masterplan" in the quite short period of 4 weeks. Our team consisted of 5 students: Patrick Geiss (, Marc Gutowski (, Michael Honsel (, Andreas Nehls ( and Bastian Wartenberg (

The video is almost completely CG except for the dancer who was filmed before bluescreen to be added in later.

The music is from Mighty Fruitz ( from Berlin.

I hope you like it! Enjoy!

Nice work, really nice!

I especially like the frames where the red thingies form a talking mouth. The occluded reduced look fits the music very well, nice animations and motion graphics. How did you render it?

Great work! Five stars from me!

I'm interested how you made the storyboard or the animatic for it. Can you show something?

Thanks for the kind words! :)

The rendering was done in Maya with MentalRay. Mainly occlusion and a lot of masks for later use in the compositing.

Yeah, I see if I can find storyboard and animatic to be able to upload it...

The production to the musicvideo, has me very much fun made. Were 4 hard weeks, but it was worthwhile itself :-) Thanks again to the whole team.

@ OJK:
Sorry that I haven't been able yet to show you storyboard and animatic... seems to be backupped in some archive somewhere...

@ thedoc:
Thank you!
It really shouldn't take too long to download... I get a pretty decent speed!
But you can also see the movie here:
