Title: All the Sad Stories Begin With a Curse
Name: Alister Lockhart
Country: Australia
Software: Painter, Photoshop

This piece was done for a skateboard deck as part of a local exhibition here in Melbourne. It started out as a pic of, well, whatever, to be honest, and then as it progressed it took on a more lofty pious ideal. Something to do with women in religion. Anyway, ain't perfect (you can't half tell it's digital), but some of the rendering is nice, I think.

That is awesome man! I bet it will look great on a deck. Are you screen printing the decks yourself?

That is going to look so cool on the deck, I would love to see a photo of the deck when you get it printed.

There is a site called Board Pusher where you can upload an image and get it printed on a skate deck. I tried it and the image comes out very good, but the quality of the board is extremely poor, if you want to actually ride it which I did. I would love to design more decks if I could find some ware with higher quality boards.

Beautiful! And, the title speaks volumes! I think it gets a 5!

Here's a photo from the exhibition.

The finish came out great BUT unfortunately (because I gave the printers too much credit) I didn't provide adequate registration instuctions- as you can see they assumed that I would want the whole halo on the female character's head to be in-shot, so they moved it right so that the darkened bars at the edge are now uneven. It didn't sell. You can tell how happy I am in the shot.
But, I plan to get a second printed, with the correct registration.

Anyway, if you like this design, contact Armourdillo (

I liked the ligth effects and the composition, and particularly the tatoo in her back. You're technique is very good, it is an excellent work

This is very cool, it looks great on the photo ^^ I think that the colors could have interacted a bit more, otherwise it's very lovely :)
