I'm getting some banding in a ramp in MR. I've tried to scatter it a bit with value noise but no luck. I think rendering 16 bit shoudl solve it but I'm not sure which image format and settings to use. There is no longer a 16 bit tiff preference in the image format list. I tried picking RGBA 4x16 short but in the renderview it actually looks worse.

How do you render 16 bit per channel images in mental ray?

I don't see an option for 16 bit tiffs etc like there used to be in previous version of Maya.
