Hi mate,

that is a lot of work you got there. setting up all the mechanical parts is not easy. any chances of watching a Hi Res version of this will be great. very detailed work.

10 October 2007, 03:50 PM work! it's very nice!

that is amazing, can you please share with us your references to do such thing,... rock on!

10 October 2007, 02:34 PM
Actually there is nothing fancy. The whole rig is consisted of IK,constrains, pole vector, limitation and some deformers like wrap, lattice, etc.Locator is very important in this rig!~

outstanding....i'm impressed!

The song of the rigging reel is:L'Altra :It Follows Me Around

11 November 2007, 07:11 PM
How long did it take to rig?

11 November 2007, 11:16 PM
yea dude, I would definately try and critique if I could, but that looks really amazing. The only thing I see, and this is a Minor, MINOR thing, is that the pistons on the top of the little camera thing at the top look a little bit rubbery, they dont seem to move all that mechanically. Thats really the only thing, and thats like a freckle on the body of this magnificent piece of rigging. That truely did Blow my mind. It showed me how they can actually keep track of all those moving parts on a movie like transformers. Seriously good.

That's fantastic. I'm working on something similar, only more retro and artistic, but it doesn't hold a candle to yours.

Actually there is nothing fancy. The whole rig is consisted of IK,constrains, pole vector, limitation and some deformers like wrap, lattice, etc.Locator is very important in this rig!~

I need to start reading more random material on deformers and locaters, obviously there's some stuff I've missed, I've been focussing on expressions... :banghead:

Anyway, awesome work, now I'm gonna head back to my rig, and poke it with a stick for a while hoping it'll magically become as cool as yours...

10 October 2008, 03:15 PM
very nice dude, what i like the most is the incredible detail and "correctness" of the model itself, i mean this could be made in real life, couldn't it? Do you have robot design background or something?? :P

Your work is truly inspiring mate!.

I'd like to know about your research for this, how did you make you head around that mechanical movements and joints?, could you please tell me about any helpfull readings for that?, I don't have time to get a bachelor on engineering! ;)
