View Full Version : Medieval Troll, Jovi (2D)

04 April 2003, 11:58 PM (

Two posts in just a couple of days - it seems I'm back to "foruming"
again...this time it's 2d, a character wich is a logo (or a cute thing that stands on the cover, forgot the word) of a computer games magazine. That's why there's no background, they've used it in a couple of commercials and stuff...What do you think?

thanks Kamul:)))I'm tired too,I havent had a nice sleep in a month...I'm crazy with the E3 madness all around, rendering all night, besides I organized a 3d contest @ the bulgarian forums and it just finished so I was making tumbnails and cropping pics...And no hope for rest in a week or two...So thanks for the nice words:)Makes me feel better

Nice.. Really dig the feel to it. :bounce:

Btw youre a 2D guy so I got a question for ya.. Is 512x512 an acceptable resolution for a tablet? Or will I bee disappointed. Will be used for texturing.

04 April 2003, 12:59 AM
Actually I'm really a "3d guy"...
I do modeling, texturing and character animation in a gamedev studio...I draw 2d ocassionally...But to tell the truth, I got no idea what is a tablet resoliution...I use wacom intuous 2 A5 and I think it's the best you can get compared to price and productivity
though its drivers s*ck big time:)

Gorgeous painting, it's really vibrant. Beautiful work!

very nice work Jovi. Your use of different textures in your paintings is great. The patterns on his armor and axe are very nice too, good sense of depth in'em. Keep up the good work!

Quite cool :) it somehow reminds me of starwars ,but I can't put my finger on it.

04 April 2003, 07:42 PM
I like it! It has a nice evil knight feeling about it, wich I dig.

I'd like to use it as an background; is this the orignal size?

04 April 2003, 09:45 PM
Obviously, you are a great texture artist... nice scrollwork, etc.

However, if this is being used for advertisement, they might want to go into Photoshop and increase the size of the left arm somewhat, as it seems almost smaller than the right arm in the backgound confusing the perspective a bit. Other than that, good job.
