View Full Version : camera animation makes shadow map slide

08 August 2007, 10:12 PM

This is bugging the crap out of me...

I have a scene with a spotlight casting a few shadows. Everything in the scene is static, and the spotlight has no animated attributes.

for some reason the shadow map projected by the light seems to slide around a bit on the floor. This is linked to the animation of the camera ( which is shakey like a hand-held ). When the camera is not moving the shadow map renders static.

it seems the camera movement screws up the projection of the shadow map somehow !

what the hell ?

im using the software renderer, and the spotlight is casting volume fog shadows with a dmap resolution of 2000.

any suggestions would be good on this one...
