Nice work!
The first one is on its way to being a great matte painting...however, I think the large amount of black you used is throwing me off.Is it from a photo ref? I live in an area where I see landscapes like the first one every day, and the shadows are never black...they're always almost a dark blue/purple.

You're third pic is my favorite. It has a really bold, graphic look to it.

lindavanbruggen - thanks dude...that would be cool for an animation

wildsheepchase - thanks man...if you actually take the painting and put it into photoshop and use the test tube to check the color, you will notice that the dark shadows are not black but actually a very dark purple. yes the desert is from photo reference ( a damn small one!! ).
