Does anyone know how to discriminate relections between objects so a given object can be reflected in another but not in a third one?

I guess I am trying to find sonething similar to the light linker but for objects.

I wish Maya had a straightforward way of doing this. The only way I see this being accomplished is to break your scene up into layers and render your scene out in passes.
