Having a bit of a problem here.
I have 3 machines, one runing XP pro X86 other 2 running XP pro x64. Trying to do AT LEAST a network render with mray 220.127.116.11. I have Maya 8.5 x86 on the XP x86 and same vers of Maya but the x64 vers. Edited the maya.rayhosts file with the required IP's and ports:
My main working station is the x86 one. When i try to dispatch the render i get the folowing mesage:
MSG 0.0 error 011229: could not connect to host:port 192.168.2.35:7103 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
MSG 0.0 error 011706: cannot add host 192.168.2.35:7103
MSG 0.0 error 011229: could not connect to host:port 192.168.2.33:7103 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

My network config is very simple. A router connected to internet and a switch for the lan. The router automatically dispatches IP's over the network and has firewall but none of the machines i try to render with has any firewall active.
I only have these maya licenses with the mental ray that comes with them. Not the stand alone version. So, yes, i am trying to do a so called "satellite" render, with no master/slave setup (the stand alone mray setup).
The machines exchange data to one another and even do network rendering with a third party network rendering solution (Smedge) BUT i would be very interested in doing this directly through mray satellite network render system because the next step would be the distributed renderig (splitting one high res frame among more machines).
