Nice job Silmarillion.

You have such a distinguishable style, I could tell this was your work from the thumbnail on the front page

Did you hand paint the skin texture or did you use photographs?

03 March 2003, 03:14 PM
You never cease to amaze me, wonderful textures/lightning/modelling..

5 Stars, again, wonderful

Wire!! plz plz plz plz!

03 March 2003, 03:37 PM
Really nice, as usual.

The head is beautiful, but the suit bugs me. If this bust has shoulders, maybe you could do a version that shows them off with maybe some straps to a dress or something? In my mind, the suit is fighting the feminine elements in the face (but maybe that's what you want?).

You should team up with someone who's really good with hair.

03 March 2003, 03:43 PM
I agree with FLoyd in a way. Something more feminine arround her might make the model even better.

Awesom modeling and great texturing.

Keep up with the posts my friend... Show us a wire or poly model.

03 March 2003, 04:30 PM

Excellent; fine work on the eyes and ears.

Looks like you did a good job on the suit too.

03 March 2003, 04:55 PM
>>She looks like that bald chick from star Trek the motion Picture!

Thanks! I was trying to think what she reminded of.

Great work.

03 March 2003, 05:03 PM
Beautiful girl You have there, please give her some hair ;):bounce:

03 March 2003, 05:08 PM
yeah, after working on her for so long, it'd be good to give her some hair
it liked it when i saw it the first time too, once again, nice job

03 March 2003, 05:36 PM
Good work Silmarillion... as usual. :)

I'd work a bit on the eye reflection though.

03 March 2003, 06:29 PM
You work is always so visually beautiful, but there's always one thing that they lack... life. Incredible talent you possess but you really need to push your character's expressions into more appealing poses. As it were they always seem to have a very dull stare which takes away some of the beauty for me. Technically brilliant which will grant you a spot in the gallery, but do try to push your expressions more for your next creations :)

You have received the CGtalk choice award .Please feel free to display this image anywhere you like! Incredible work.

upon receiving this award, it guarantees you a spot in the cgtalk gallery hall of fame ( - which you are now placed

P.S. Please email me @ for the award .psd file

very cool.
why are the ears on 3d models always look weird.
it seems that no matter how good the artist is or how good everything else is the ears always look weird wether it be the modeling or the shaders themselves.

Thank you so much for the award Tito :bounce: , and yeah i know what your talking about man , on my next portrait i`m going to work on it , I want to model my grand pa on his colonel uniform , will work on some short hair too. I tried sasquatch but seems to me abit complex and i didn`t spend a lot of time for it but i am happy with the eye lashes done with sasquatch. I want to thank Emrah for experimenting on the human bump map , Heyas buddy :wavey:. Yes i use Lightwave3d. Sorry i am short on time i will turn back to questions later tomorrow and post the wire , and some renders from other angles.

And lol 3DZealot find me if you become a chick :) :)

yah, kick ass model, but i agree on the ears... they look puffy... sort of like a spongey silicon rather than stiffer cartilidge (sp?)

Screw the hair. I love this piece without the hair. It seems to match her expression and outfit (at least what we see of it). Brilliant work!

04 April 2003, 05:06 AM
Amazing work man, I thought it was a bald Aki from Final Fantasy, when I first saw it. The suit gave me that impression.

I hope to be able to put out that quality of work someday, your are a great inspiration.

04 April 2003, 07:43 AM
