Is there a website out there for techniques on creating realistic rocks and cliff faces?

I cant help you with a link to a tut, sorry!

I'd be very interested myself in what others do to get cool looking rock faces.

Personally I can only think of modeling/sculpting the base shape in realtively high detail and then using stencils or alphas from photos of real rocks or other suitable reference to get the look via microdetailing.
It all depends on how much time you want to spend on your rocks, I guess.

There is no need for a tut, everything you need is in your power of observations.

Just sculpt basic volumes, and then at higher division use the pinch and flatten brush to get the chiseled and faceted look.

Your only limitation really is how much you want to experiment.

Ya, your best bet is to model the low poly version of the cliff face and then gather up some different rock face textures to use as alpha maps in mudbox and just sculpt to your liking. is a great resource for things like this.
