View Full Version : Rigging big wheel

I am having trouble working out how to rig a fairground big wheel so the cabins rotate in accordance with it. Any advice or links to usefull tutorials would be a great help and much appreciated.

The simple way would be to create locators at the pivot points to each cabin, parent these to the main wheel so they rotate with it, and then point constraint the cabins to the locators. This way the cabin will move with the wheels rotation, but wont inherit it's rotation.

You could get more complex and use somthing like rigid bodies so they swing with the movments, or even a hair system if you have unlimited, but the set up will still be similar in that you will need locators to attach the cabin too.
