08 August 2007, 12:16 AM
This is my first HRC event and i'm very excited to be participating in this one.
I'm in the middle of another project and having a really hard time, but i will try to do a Cougar in my freetime, i really like this animal.

here is the idea but i will try to do something more agressive!

good luck for all!

Only comment I have so far, compared to your reference the snout looks a wee bit short (distance from nose to eyes), but that might just be perspective.

08 August 2007, 02:25 PM
Looking sweet...I wouldn't want to meet up with him hiking in the woods.

08 August 2007, 02:58 AM

As we all know, youre some of greatest modelers in Brazil this days.

If you let Luciano help you out on rendering process, please let me get a ride on this project and help you with some dynamic FX on the lions fur, and nose mustache .

You made a great work .

Best Regards

Looks like we got a winner here, exellent work.
Thou Id try to post more progress images, like your base mesh creation. Helps show your though process, work flow. But aside from that its marvellous work.

08 August 2007, 05:41 PM
thanks for all the comments.. im really happy with the replies!

this weekend i hope i can find some time to work in this model..

a update in the modeling of the body.. im doing the muscles more tensed than the normal animal but i will smooth when i pose the model..

waiting for replies..

take care.. c ya!

08 August 2007, 06:06 PM
hey Rafa, as you know Im just starting to work with you but already very glad to see your effort and talent for CgArt. This is starting great! I specially like its mouth . I also wish to see cool final shot with this Puma, and be part of the process as well!

08 August 2007, 06:34 PM
right now it all feels a bit boxy and squared out! I'm especially refering to the body - the chest is the same width as the shoulders and the butt ... also it seems not rounded enough towards the bottom...

+ the jaw bone's way too sharp...

looking forward to more for sure! Keep it coming :bounce:

08 August 2007, 06:57 PM
hey mag.. thx for the help.. i got what u mean..
ill try to solv it.. i still need to fix some proportions.. ;)

thx a lot.. c ya!

08 August 2007, 09:42 PM

another update.. fix some proportions. so many things to do...
when i pose it i smooth the muscles.. ;)

c ya!

08 August 2007, 01:56 AM
Looking good!

08 August 2007, 04:29 AM
the head is looking excellent, something bothers me about the body though. Seems like the anatomy is off a little in the legs.

08 August 2007, 03:19 PM
yea man.. thx for the post.. im still working on the legs.. ;)

c ya

08 August 2007, 03:01 AM
hey guys.. another up
dont change so many things about the last one.. just unhide the head and fix some things in the legs..
so many things to fix .. can wait to put he in the pose..

take care all.. c ya!

08 August 2007, 03:09 AM
freakin awesome gra!

only crit
think there is too many muscles on his `legs`
take a look at this image

i know that, theres too many fur and stuff.. but you can have an idea about what im talking...

no more
as I said b4, thats A ass kicking Kitty =D

e os gringo fica tudo molhadinho ahsuehas

see ya! :applause:

08 August 2007, 03:58 AM
hey raffa.. thx man.. i know what ure trying to say.. i get the idea.. i will smooth the muscles when i pose the model..
thats what im saying..

thats my first idea for the pose.. more agressive one.. protecting the territory..

comments are welcome!!

08 August 2007, 05:49 AM
Niiice! I like it a lot!

I also have to agree on funkdelic's muscles statement though.

I am having the same issues with my tiger. It's like he's on a massive dose of Dianabol. lol
Very sweet work so far nonetheless!

08 August 2007, 12:27 PM
Ha! I love the pose man, just like the image you posted.
Ill definitely go with this pose!

keep that up!

. somehow the muscles look much better now in the pose!

08 August 2007, 01:19 PM
Awesome!!! I really like the pose!!

08 August 2007, 01:18 PM
Looking excellent...the pose is sweet. I wouldn't tred into his territory!

09 September 2007, 04:50 PM
First off... great work... It's a really good likeness of a mountain lion... one little thing is the front leg... you really can't tell where the foot begins and the leg ends i don't know if you've been working on that... but thought I would mention it.

Second... did you find any references on the muscle structure of the mountain lion? I've been looking for a bit and I can't seem to find any.

Again great work.

09 September 2007, 06:02 PM
did you find any references on the muscle structure of the mountain lion? I've been looking for a bit and I can't seem to find any.

Quadroped-anatomy is basically the same, regardless what animal you are looking at. There are some notable differences between specialized runners such as ie horses and their counterpart hunters though.

For a mountain lion, just look at cat anatomy and boost overall size, muscle mass and adjust some proportions. Small cats are just the same as big ones in that matter. You can even look at dog anatomy, there is plenty of that to be found online.

09 September 2007, 04:16 PM
Beautifull man. For me, the foot in front like strange maybe too 'flat' in the side. That's all =)

09 September 2007, 04:48 PM
Really coming along nicely! One thing that bothers me a little on the latest post is that both his left shoulder and his left hip are both higher than the right giving the impression that he has his weight supported entirely by his left side which gives me a slight feeling of imbalance. I think some of your earlier tests of this pose had better weight distribution.

09 September 2007, 02:09 AM
hey guys,. thanks for all the comments and tips!

i really dont have time to work in this model =/
try to fix some problems in a little freetime today..

just a little up..

hope i have time to finish it!

thanks all.. take care!

09 September 2007, 06:46 AM
Ok good luck :) and now with this view I found the tail it's too big .
