This is my first challenge.
I start with speed sketches...

I start with the models in Zbrush using zspheres...

08-04-2007, 09:31 AM ...
I hope you like.

08-04-2007, 10:20 AM
Very cool!

I like your Z-workflow. Personally z-spheres and I dont get along too well, but its always nice to see that they are indeed a speedy alternative yielding very neat results for those who do work with them regularely.
Cant wait to see more detail!

off to a good start! I really like the pose you put the zebra in, I guess its a good last second of your life pose lol. keep up the good work, this could be a really great looking model

Hello. I have begun by the lion, defining the general forms and the visual flow of muscles. The idea behind the model is to describe the moment at which the lion is struck by the zebra. It is possible that it is the last battle of the old lion; or it is possible that still it has forces… ...

----- Thank you very much nmcelmury and TheRazorsEdge!!! ----
I have put a video so that the model can be appreciated better.

I have worked with the zebra a little more. I still need much work: the lion's air and face, enviroment, etc…. I made a test render... (1).jpg (2).jpg (3).jpg (4).jpg (5).jpg (6).jpg

That's a pretty awesome days worth of work. I loved the pose in your scetches and your getting very close to it.

08-05-2007, 06:26 AM
No kidding! That is absolutely awesome work indeed and all in just a day. Damn!

So I take it you are going to sculpt the fur instead of making it a hair sim? Are you completely staying in Z with this project?

08-06-2007, 02:15 PM
wow really nice work dude. i like this one alot. your Zbrush work is amazing. i'll be watching this one!

08-07-2007, 09:17 PM

I have had a little time today to work in the model.
I have decided to make the hair in Zbrush… a little slow but it does not displease to me as it is in some parts. Despite I must work it more.
Also I have thought that both animals are crossing a pool and the lion has mud in the hair… and also in the zone of impact of the kick of the zebra.

mask for the
eyeteeths / tweak tool for all the air

TheRazorsEdge..., yes! All the process is done in Zbrush.
Thanks Facepunch (! vbmenu_register("postmenu_4569054", true);

Very sweet progress! I really like how ths is coming along.

08-12-2007, 01:33 PM
I really like it so far, one thing that niggles me a bit though is the zebras spine, it seems to bend too much at the shoulders, mebbe try and bring the spine down a tad and perhaps build up the shoulders a little too

08-12-2007, 02:08 PM
This is looking awsome so far.
Zbrush is destroying my polymodeling x_x

I have just a short time free to work in the model.
At the moment just a little test with the texture of the lion.
lightcache… I am thinking about changing the zebra's spine, because much people have commented to me the same thing….
Facepunch… the texture is done with a brush of Zbrush. I will give more details soon.
Thanks to all for the wonderful commentaries. :)
