Hey everyone, I'm in on this one, I'm going to do the frill neck lizard, (the little guys that look like the spitting dinosaurs in jurassic park) Should be fun, good luck to everybody! Time to get some reference

I remember those little guys featured on a documentory back in 93 when JP was all the rage.:D

Will he be frilly or running on water as they can do? Either sounds cool.

WyattHarris - I think I'm going to have him running across water, I think that would be a cool shot
hey everyone, got a little start earlier today, here's a couple screenshots of the head so far, just laying out edgeloops and getting my base model going.

The frilled neck lizards are native to Australia and I have seen them many times out in the bush. good luck with this!

Well here's another update, still fleshing out the body for the base mesh and getting everything fleshed out

Coming along nicely.:)

Great work on the head so far, very good.

The head is looking brilliant so far, captured the expression perfectly!
Are you going to use Zbrush / Mudbox to scuplt in the scaley reptillian skin?

Hey thanks for the comments guys,
octopus7 - Yeah I will probably be bringing him into ZBrush to pull out as much detail as I can, I just like making my base mesh as good as possible to keep myself sharp with good ol polygon modeling.
Hopefully another update tonight!

Hey everyone, finally another update, I've been so burned out coming home from work lately I don't even want to see a computer but I buckled down a little tonight and got some more work done! Base model is almost finished, I still have some work to do on his mouth (adding teeth and all that) then I'm going to throw a quick rig in him and pose him properly.
Keep up the good models everyone, all the updates I have seen so far looks like everyone is off to a flying start!
Here's a couple screen shots

OK, here's another update, just finished laying out his UVs, now I'm going to throw a quick rig in him and pose him properly

Hello nmcelmury. You have chosen a subject that really captures the animal motion. Great model. I am anxious to see more!!

Well here's another update, I put a quick rig in him and got him posed right for his dash across the water, just got him into zbrush and barely got started sculpting

Well I was doing some work in ZBrush today, here's what I came up with. I'm going to try to focus on the roughness of his skin since these little guys don't exactly have a whole lot of muscle definition. Still needs a lot of work, especially around his neck-fan doohickey.

wow very nice work. i like the detail on his skin really looks good. keep it up!
Excellent stuff. I still remember going to see Jurassic Park when I was 9 and there was this scene with one of those lizzards spitting into some fat guy's face...could not stop laughing :)

Looks really good :), I like the skin and the pose.

Very impressive work! The scaly skin is coming along nicely:thumbsup:

Good zbrush work… You give now a little irregularity to the skin?.
