I was wondering how important the music on demo reels are???
I am putting together my first student demo reel and i know different kinds of music can have deifferent effects on people and it can deffinetly compliment a piece of animation!
I was just wondering what peoples thoughts were on the subject and what they have found to work well in the past??

thanks alot :)

Demo reel music is not important to most studios.
I prefer to have the music turned off...although a good track with a good beat helps bring a cadence to your reel.

It is a tough call though, but almost every reel I have ever reviewed has some spastic techno or matrix soundtrack on it...DO NOT DO THAT! :) [seriously though I am not kidding, NO Matrix soundtrack!]

Render a few tests with tracks and we can give them a listen to see if the tempo is right for your work...if you want a physical opinion.

Good luck.
