ok... little bit delayed but... i have started yesterday...and i'm somewhere in the middle at the moment... i need to paint a lot of weights and then connect the stuff... the idea is to have blendShapes driving the mesh, mesh driving face controls and the same face controls will drive the mesh.... uh... :)..and no, no double transform... ahh you'll like ti ;)

i will put some screens of the blendShape targets little bit later..

ok.. allmost done... :)

there are some images...

1. Head and the blendShapes: The face control at the right is driving the blendShapes

2. Points that are deforming the mesh are also moving with the mesh..
At the moment the face is deformed only by the blendShapes (through the face control)
3. The points in action, can be used for extra poses.. it doesn't matter what will be used first it can be either the points or the blendShapes... Both are working in conjunction without any problems

i'll do a video.. just a few more stuff to do...

C&C ..:bounce:

Hey Instruct9r!

Awesome rig! I love your whole interface. Would you by any chance care to explain what the balls all over his face do and how they control his face independently? I am guessing that you have this set up sort of like a cartoony cane-toad joint driven rig and those are just the handles, but if you care to enlighten, by all means go for it! Beautiful rig!

The points are driving joints.... ahh.. it's realy hard to explain how exactly the stuff are connected.. cuz there are a lot, a lot of stuff..... i may make some video tutorial later...

thanks for the comments

Hey ! Nice work!

I really liked the way you have set up your rig. It's quite simple to animate.
But I think the deformations in the cheek need to be corrected. I dint find the movement of Zygomaticus muscles that realisitic.
Overall, it's a good work.

i didn't say it's perfect :)... i'm just using techniques that are making the life of the animators easy.... anyway that was done for pretty much 3 days..(blendShapes, weights, bla, bla :) you can't expect perfect face rig for this time...

i appreciate the comments
