View Full Version : alpha (hold back) objects in Hardware Render

I was wondering,
I am rendering a scene with the Hardware Renderer, and I need to have a foreground cylinder used as part of the alpha that will cut the alpha into other objects when they go behind it. In essence I need the cylinder to be a "hold back" object.

I have the cylinder with a material that works when rendered in mental ray, how can it work in the hardware render?

Please help,
