View Full Version : Free 7.5 Camera Rig

Well, I just finished creating my camera rig for my animation I'm working on. So I thought, I would not be my greedy self and share it with you fellow LW'rs in here. It is complete with multiple nulls for specific purposes, and all controlled wioth a master slider bank. The camera target is not part of the slider rig, so you can move it independently.

Enjoy. And if you have any tips on how to make it even better, let me know. I didn't want to use IK, just cause I don't like it.

Wow, I never really thought about setting up a rig for the camera... usually I just target a null and control the rest by setting envelopes and checking the render at specific frames. Really cool! Thanks!

Thanks everyone. I came up with the idea after rendering out a 16sec animation in radiosity over night to discover I had some jerky camera movement in it. So I came up with a rig to help me control it better.
Remember, you can adjust all the slider values to accomadate your needs.
Here's a DivX 5.02 render of the rig in action. Really nice smooth shots.

That is such a cool idea. After seeing this it makes me wonder why I always fought certain camera motions in my scenes and never thought to build a rig for it. This brings up all kinds of new ideas. Speaking of which, hmm, light rigging. Gotta go home, must needs play!

That's one thing that is great about the LW community here at CGTalk. Everyone has an idea, and will share it in one form or another.
I can't believe though that no one has thought of this before..Cripes, I'm still another LW newbie:cool:
