06 June 2007, 06:13 AM
Yea, this is going to be fun. :D

06 June 2007, 06:09 AM
hey, nice idea~ lol. i'll follow this thread. good luck! :)

07 July 2007, 09:40 PM (

This is just a quick sketch of my concept. It is a little basic right now, and does not represent the look that I am trying to go for yet.

07 July 2007, 09:41 PM
A new part of the idea: He is actually a killer for hire, but in his spare time, he likes to knit.

07 July 2007, 12:05 AM
LOL that's funny! Is he a cyborg or sth?

07 July 2007, 12:43 AM
No, I just kind lazy, haha. :D

07 July 2007, 06:51 AM (

Here is the start of the face. I still want to find some reference to base some of the facial features on.

07 July 2007, 07:05 AM
Funny one. The face fits very well.

07 July 2007, 07:37 AM
hmm the idea is ... ok and that "killer" looks flat :/ lol j/k ... damn you, cool idea.

07 July 2007, 09:09 AM
the face looks very nice and the concept is great... keep it up

07 July 2007, 05:46 PM
Thank you Lun3 :)

Thanks kdkaos :D

Thank you icedeyes :)

07 July 2007, 08:34 AM (

This is the start of the character. :)
I don't know how much more I am going to model before I need to pose him. (*sigh* and unwrapping...). Anyways, hope you like :D

07 July 2007, 08:45 AM
hey :)

that's nice :) this smooth version appear really great :)
could you share a wireframe shaded version please ?:)
thanks a lot :)

07 July 2007, 09:34 AM
the t-shirt looks a bit strange around the neck, apart from that good model
idea is nice too.

07 July 2007, 10:05 AM
the model looks just great except from the area ania mentioned... it might be the angle though... great work

07 July 2007, 01:23 PM
great modeling.

but the t-shirt really looks too strange cause no stretch is able to show that much shape of the muscles. Especially without any rinckles.

maybe you'll fix it during the posing.

07 July 2007, 06:01 PM
flaeticia , ania , icedeyes, nothingness : Thank you :).

For the neck area, yea weird :) I think I just winged it and probably made the shape wrong for the collar. Thanks for noticing :)

Yea, I will be going wrinkles and making it look more like a shirt once I have it posed and can take it into some kind sculpting program (but maybe I should model the largest wrinkles in).

The pants and shoes are just started, but I don't really know what kind of pants I should give him. Do you think some kind of dress pants or something less casual would work ok?

07 July 2007, 06:03 PM
good going mate.... althought i would like to pint out something.. first of all the figure seems a bit disproportionate, i donno if its the angle but the upper portion of the body seems bigger then the lower portion... another thing is the head... i think its a bit oo big for a body like that... i donno if u wud like to exagerate anything but if u do u might wanna make the head even smaller to give him that big-guy look.... another thing.. the already mentioned t-shirt issue.

other then that good job on the modeling.. nice work on the muscles... keep up the good works...

07 July 2007, 06:03 PM (

Here is the model with wireframe.

07 July 2007, 06:08 PM
hey overcontrast, thanks :) I see what you mean. I'll do some iterations. And I like the idea for making the head smaller too :).

07 July 2007, 06:46 PM
looks good man, :). his bisep is really big~ ;p, good luck!

07 July 2007, 10:12 PM (

I changed the proportions a little. The legs are longer, and the head is slightly smaller. :)

07 July 2007, 10:20 PM
I think those muscles are slightly too big, especially the chest and the Papaye forearms :scream:... personally I also liked the previous, wider t-shirt opening at the neck, now it looks weird, as if he's inside some suit.

good start though - make him a little dumber looking than he's now :thumbsup:

07 July 2007, 10:45 PM
Thanks Magdalena :) Haha, I don't know which collar I like more:eek: I'll have to see what works best once he is posed. Hrm, yea maybe he is muscled too much :( His forearms are almost like wings. haha..XD.. Anyways, I will tone everything down (I might keep his chest as it is until it's posed.. his chest should be more flexed once he is in his pose, so the size might work...) :) .

07 July 2007, 10:05 AM
i personally like the bloated muscles he has... i think the new colar is too tight right now..

have fun,

07 July 2007, 05:06 PM
Thanks for the comment :)

07 July 2007, 05:42 PM
Man, your concept rock... it looks so bizarre

07 July 2007, 06:47 PM
Haha, thanks man :D

07 July 2007, 02:42 AM (

Here is the beginning progress for the shoes.

07 July 2007, 06:16 AM (

Here is an update on the guy's face. Still modeling certain parts of his face. I also plan on eventually doing some sculpting (soon...hopefully...)

07 July 2007, 08:51 AM
I like the frowny face very much... the chin seems a little strange like its bending fat to its center... maybe its the angle... keep it up

07 July 2007, 09:23 AM
I also plan on eventually doing some sculpting (soon...hopefully...)
so this is just poly modelling till now? cool, I like that, can I see a wire please?

07 July 2007, 09:52 AM
Your concept and your model looks very good.I don't know if following proportion with muscolar bodies is so right since the most of the time these kinds of bodies are unproportioned. However I think making him more proportioned is visually better.
Keep on going.

07 July 2007, 06:09 PM (

No changes to the face yet. Just showing the wireframe. :) It's still a little sloppy....

07 July 2007, 06:15 PM
icedeyes : Thanks. Yea, the chin thing is weird, and I will fix it :)

ania: yea, just poly right now. :scream:

Zethriel: Thanks :) I will keep it in mind.

I think it's time for me to unwrap some parts... :(

07 July 2007, 10:31 PM
Wow! Very nice modelling! And very cool concept very good idea!

07 July 2007, 06:28 AM
Thank you :):)

07 July 2007, 06:48 AM
Beautiful modeling - and the concept really rocks!

07 July 2007, 10:18 AM
Great concept!

An idea would be to make the T-Shirt a little more like a vest. So you see this big man knitting. Although, not too much like a vest or else you will have Bruce on you ^ ^

07 July 2007, 08:56 PM
Greg-Jackson : Thanks for the comments :) So maybe a tank top or something. hrm.. :D

07 July 2007, 07:11 AM
the wire looks clean... keep it up

07 July 2007, 04:50 AM
Thanks icedeyes :D

08 August 2007, 02:42 AM (

Here is some progress on the arms for the model. Sorry for the quite long delay in posts. With work/vacation and lack of time, its been difficult to spend some time on it (unfortunatly). Anyways, hope you like.

08 August 2007, 03:08 AM

i just say that!:scream:

08 August 2007, 01:56 PM
