Like all of you i decided to enter the competition.
This is my first concept sketch. It's a very quick and rough sketch to get an idea of what i want to make. Before i start modeling i will make more detailed drawings.
Goodluck to verybody and oh... comments are welcome.
06-26-2007, 02:26 PM
Nice concept, I can see this turning into a good entry. IS that a flag in his hand???
06-26-2007, 02:47 PM
Haha, I like the idea... though to be honest. I think it would make a much better entry if the pig were riding the man!!
06-26-2007, 02:59 PM
Riding a pig bearback... and without pants. Just remember to hide all those unmentionables under his gut in the turnaround shot. ;)
06-26-2007, 03:57 PM
haha - awesome concept! will be keeping an eye on this one!
06-26-2007, 04:43 PM
Hey cg219: Yep it's a flag. Updated it a bit.
SantoAnderson: I was planning to hide his unmentionables underneath his belly but i decided to make him wear a string. (ouch)
Anyway, here's an update
06-26-2007, 04:45 PM
And by the way...thanks for all the comments.
06-26-2007, 05:41 PM
Wow, I REALLY need to get that thong image out of my mind.
06-27-2007, 10:18 PM
I know you all can't wait to see the guy in the string but for the moment you have to do with the pig.
Still got a lot of detailing to do but here's a preview
06-28-2007, 01:18 AM
you really don't let it rest for a moment huh.
And don't tell me the pig has a string too ?
06-28-2007, 07:41 AM
At the moment i'm having alot of free time. (holidays) so i try to get a head start for the times
that i don't have the time.
If this time gives me the chance to model a string or two i'll be very happy to.
If anyone else wants a string just e-mail me your size and prefered color ;)
Very nice piggy :).
And the concept too.
You are being clever with your time, it's going to pay back later...
Just one note: piggies belly looks like it is a raising ping in good shape, in other words, it looks a bit slim. What about adding some more flesh?
But if it is suppose to be a raising pig - never mind my comment :).
Good luck! Looking forward for updates from you.
06-28-2007, 09:52 AM
You were right about his belly. I made him a bit fatter. Still got some detailing to do but he's coming along.
06-28-2007, 09:59 AM
the pig looks great.. i am not an expert in pig anatomy but it think it looks just fine..
06-28-2007, 11:34 AM
Looks just great.
You seem to be more than used to model. What app do you prefer?
would be nice if we could learn something some one another. So don't be scared to give serious critique on my modeling. Looks like you are way better than me.
He-he, that's what I am talking about :scream:!
06-29-2007, 12:42 PM
Here's an update of my piggy. Uv mapping is a whole new world of pain.
The textures arent finished yet but i'm getting there.
Nico: Thanks for the comments. I am trying out modo at the moment. It's a great piece of software. You can download the demo on the luxology homepage.
By the look of you shoes you are quite a modeler yourself so if you have some critiques just spit it out.
07-01-2007, 02:11 PM
Update on the model. Maybe i'm gonna give him a wooden leg.
07-01-2007, 02:13 PM

07-01-2007, 03:36 PM
cool modeling!good luck man!:)
07-01-2007, 11:25 PM
and so fast. I already tried modo but i simply hate the navigation. So bizarre and then i loose all interest in learning the modeling tools.
by the way, the shoes aren't all that amazing. :banghead:
07-02-2007, 01:23 AM
love the concept, this cracks me up.
Maybe i'm gonna give him a wooden leg.
I'd love to see this.
07-02-2007, 11:40 AM

07-02-2007, 12:52 PM

Intervain you were absolutely right about the textures. I updated them.
07-11-2007, 05:37 PM
Since the guy does need some shoes. Here they are. Feedback is always welcome.
07-11-2007, 05:40 PM
This is the shoe with textures
07-11-2007, 09:26 PM
Wow! The work on the shoe looks amazing!
I'd like to see Cloud from FinalFantasy wear them!
Keep up the masterful work that seems to be flowing out of you!
07-11-2007, 10:01 PM
nice shoe :) - why is the lace finished in such a weird place and not tied? oh and LOL about that wooden leg!
07-11-2007, 10:31 PM
Totally amazing modeling and texturing!
07-12-2007, 02:39 AM

07-12-2007, 11:28 AM
thanks for the reply's.
I wasn't sure what to do with the shoelaces yet. But after you guys asked my why it's not tied i felt like i just had to do it. Thanks for pushing me
Here are some updates. I added an extra seam (texture) underneath the laces.
07-12-2007, 11:30 AM
Shoe with laces tied and texture update.

07-12-2007, 12:02 PM
Wow, really funny concept. And the modeling is awesome.
Good luck with the challenge.
he-he, the wooden piggy leg is good!
I guess you haven't done anything with shaders yet? The pig would benefit from some subsurface scattering...
And that's a very realistic shoe! Love it!
07-12-2007, 01:10 PM
Great texturing and modeling. One question, have you thought about adding mud to the shoe??
07-12-2007, 01:44 PM
High modeling stuff here !
Nice to see this on the run !
Great modeling so far! Textures on the shoe are very nice!
07-13-2007, 10:39 AM
You are doing a good job.I quote for the mud and not only on the shoes.
07-14-2007, 05:22 PM
your shoe is really well done. Fabics are nicely applied on models.
You may add some spur hehe.
07-14-2007, 05:45 PM
Great modeling on shoe man!
I know what a nightmare is modeling a Shoestring!!!
Great work sofar, ;)
07-18-2007, 03:49 PM
Wow, nice progress, the pig looks hilarious, and your modeling and texturing skills are very good.
Good luck
07-18-2007, 04:07 PM
LOL! Your concept is hilarious!
Btw, great modeling! Those boots look like an old pair of hiking boots that I use to own. :D
07-26-2007, 10:34 PM
