Greetings guys, this time i'll be more methodic this time to avoid rushes and develop a better piece, i'll try to be more active in the forums this time but I do not have too much free time so...this is my start:
First I will expend a bit of time conceptualizing my pice to get the most precise background I can get, in this case this is extra important for me because I have lots of ideas on this topic, and most of them even don't have any link one to another so I will post all my ideas
Suicide Mime "Oscar, the Jumping Mime" : I was wondering what happens when a suicide mime jump from a building... will he hit the ground or hit nothing inches above the ground? Hehe, i got this picture very clear, ill develop this for the challenge or personal project, hope i explained myself.
Mc BFC "Mc BFT, trash food Unleashed" : Oh no! a Big Fking Trash is destroying the city streets, everybody flee. The Mc BFT is a monster made of trash food eating the people, this resembles how a bad alimentation can harm the body, the people and the society! Just a joke, I have nothing against fast food or something, just an educational idea that came to my head.
The bug Coliseum, "Ant-quiles vs Bear-cules" : Title said so, Aquiles ant vs Hercules ant-bear fight for their lifes in the bug coliseum.
Epic Summer camp : What a messy would be a sumer camp night with a scary paladin, a sleepy orc cooking the soup, a lady wizard speaking with her cellphone sceptic, a dwarf with his beard burning and spiky the sniffy purple dragon.
The Attack of the Umbrella Ladies Army : Mary Poppin's-like maids Armies are taking over! AHHHHH!
Golem Malcfunction : It is very disgusting when you stept over a chewed bubble gum, but what if you are a ultratecnologic invulnerable golem and this things enter in your articulations:S
I have four more ideas, I even dreamed with cookies with chocolate sheeps but I gota go now..
Sorry for my bad english, its hard for me to explain with my limited english skills, anyway I'm glad to share my ideas with all you guys, maybe they can help someone...
I'll sketch them as soon as I can, also I will put some more ideas...concept sketches will tell...
End of transmission.

Hi Reinaldo! Thanks for all your kind words..You have very fun ideas and I'm looking forward to seeing them come to life! Good luck!!

Here is my first sketch, I had a lack of inspiration lately but finally something came out.
There is a huge horde of monsters and creatures over a pile of children corpses and junk (children stuff like toys, children beds and so) and in the middle there is the only remaining kid in the world, with his ultra secret last weapon, a "monstercide can". The child is standing still against them and in the left side the lady over the monster is a lady who is the death. I dont know if she will be confronting the kid or just being shocked of the danger the kid have in his inocent hands, my mood and vague drawings will tell.
Hope you like it and shoot any critic that come to your head.
Cheers and good luck to all.

I like your idea about the mime suicide it seems funny... I might be biased because i dont like mimes very much. Cool stuff.
Reinaldo, great idea and concept! I cant wait for more updates :) Saludos and good luck !!

Hi Rei, Rock n' Roll dude i've been waiting for your post:buttrock:. Cool concept, but i dont understand the scale of he girl that is on the top, is like a mini human besides the kid.

This is looking really ncie so far, Reinaldo! You've got a really strong feel to your scene and the red eyes really pop out incredibly well . I kind of hope you don't end up going too crazy with the colros - sticking to greys and blacks with red accents looks terrific already. The only major issue I see is makign the child stand out... but that shouldn't be too hard to do with some lighter values and a splash of color against the otherwise dark and desaturated background.
I hope you don't mind but I have two things for you to look at. I am in no way suggesting you are copying from these. They just happen to be works by two of my favorite artists along a similar theme (i.e. creepy background, no kid or strange behaviour involved) and I'm posting them jst becuase you might find them inspiring (I do!)
First, Dylan Cole (http://www.dylancolestudio.com) did some terrific matte paintings for The Chronicles of Riddick. Here's one you may like:
You can see several more in his web site (http://www.dylancolestudio.com) under Matte Painting > Chronicles of Riddick.
This one, called 'The Lone Drow', is by Todd Lockwood (http://www.toddlockwood.com/) . It is a bit lighter in value, but fits what you were saying about dead bodies and skeletons:
I found it on his web site under Gallery>Books>Page 2
Hmm, Drow... I should look around Tood's site for inspiration for my own entry! :) Anyhow, hope you like these and don't mind that I posted them. Keep it coming on your own entry - let's see more sketches soon! Good luck and have fun...!

Kei / MarcelMora: Thank you both for your words, now I have some tiny thing to show, looking for your updates too.
jasondesigns: hey, tnx for the coment, about my old ideas, they were just some random ideas I had but none I trully like forthe challenge, I wanted something with more emotive feeling and that could leave something to think about, that is what I enoy on my pieces maybe because of my exentricity :P
Ferx: Gracias, glad you like it. Ill try to update ASAP since I have to expend most time in another project so I had been bussy these days. Thank you.
BrunoZ: Thank you, working on it:)
Sarker: I know you were waiting but you know how am I. About that girl and the kid, I just painted them for reference, those are not theyre design or perspective, scale is very close but I didnt work on image deep, is just a quick doodle I did. Actually I leave them that way because my computer crashed and I lost all my inspiration :(. Thanks for your coments bro, see you around, I got some suggestions for you too but talking is beter than posting:P
warlus: Thank you so much for your words Mike, like I said in your thread, you always make some wise advices. Ive already looked at Todd's gallery, in fact of some Wizard's of the Coast artists. I wanted to make something more like Raymond Swanland's atmospheres, like a dissociated epic battlescene with a main character totally out of context. About Dylan Cole's matte paints I do like them but they look to realistic for my taste. Aniway I got your point about leading the eye with atmosphere ilumination to the focal point over the child, also some fog and stuff is what I had in mind to pop him up. You hit in the nail, that is my main problem for the composition. Thank you for your coments, they were acuarate as usual.
Thank you very much for all coments, best regards!

hey buddy, just wanted to say that i really like your tonal study, and your composition. I'm curious how prominent you'll be depicting the lady death, compared to the kid... I'm planning on fallowing this thread to find out.
good luck dude!!! 8]

Jeffparadox: thank you mate, I still dont know how i will handle many things, I know what the image will have and the history inside of it but I am just letting my head flyes and my hands do the job so I am curious too to be honest:P Good luck to you too mate, you have a nice entry, looking forward on that one!

I was bored today of being working and opened my concept by mistake so I paint a bit. I just let my imagination work and more elements came out of my head, also composition ended this way, it remains on a very early stage but in the end I did like it so i will play with it a bit more and see what happens.

I like the colors Rei :)
Hey Reinaldo! Great sketch and composition ! But I think the sun is much upper of the right top focal point. Your 2 subjects of interest (the kid, and sun and rainbow) are in the right focal section and i feel that the left section lost some interest with this. Only a comment, again great work ! Saludos y suerte :)

So sweet already!!
Kinda reminds me of Doré. That, and the little kid concept just make me all drooly!
Keep it coming!!
