Steampunk - hey mate, thanks,i do have a couple of ideas which i might be doing, will sketch them out as soon as i fit in time:
a)a guy whos a crazy gamer,he cant let go his xbox even while hes in the loo doing his 'business'
b)a grandma watching sports channel with her face painted,a very supportive sports enthusiast
c)a guy whos been taking too much banana's and has develope monkeylike movements, multitasking with both his arms and legs, working with 4 monitors, zbrushing, maya'ing, mudbox'ing and photoshop'ing simultaneously..

more to comes:D

neb and calisto, hie both of u:)great seeing u here and dont worry about the files backup thingy, its all set

07 July 2007, 03:03 PM
Hi, Michael! Great moody atmosphere in this first concept. I like the idea. The main crit I would have would be to work on making the robot pop against the background more - I actually had to look at the iamge several times to see if it was just the setting or if there was actually a character in there! :) What about adding a little fog, so that the big spaceshippy thing gets bluer and less saturated as it goes back, so that by the time it's behind the robot, he sticks out because he's in the foreground and nice and sharp?

As for the other ideas, I like the monkey idea a lot! The XBox idea may be strange behaviour, but I'm sure it happens in real life (not that it doesn't make it strange, but I probably know dozens of people who would think nothing at playing a PSP or DS in the loo. So I'm just suggesting you push it further somehow.)

Good luck!

07 July 2007, 03:39 PM
wow wow ....Michael...glad to see you update....:scream: ....that is great and cool pic .....I think your ideas will be awesome....:D ...ah ah .....all the best and good luck .......:bounce: :bounce:

07 July 2007, 03:46 PM
i like the idea.

07 July 2007, 11:06 PM
hi michael! So nice to see u participating :) If this is only a sketch, than Im really affraid whats coming up. It is so well rendered! The concept itself is really mind catching, but did u thought about the whole army of those robots, siting infront of TV, crying and rusting? :) I think that only one robot doesnt tell the story well, but that is only my opinion. Great to have u aboard, and good luck buddy!

07 July 2007, 02:35 AM
Ohh this is looking really sweeet Michael! I'm intrigued!

07 July 2007, 07:48 AM
the sketch looks amazing... and the idea is very good... keep it up

07 July 2007, 08:40 AM
yo, Mike~! Sweet concept u got here.. i like the atmosphere in this one. Btw, if you didn't put up the description i wouldn't found out a droid was at the right watching TV.. Well, this is just a raw sketching which looks so nice.

Keep coming back to us!.

It;s damn hot here.~

07 July 2007, 10:48 AM
Hi Michael,

Wow!:scream: for your concept the colors are soo great, the only part itís the already mentioned in, that its hard to catch your main character, but since it's work in progress, maybe its just one step behind for that. I like your art and the way this express the part of a big world. Congratulations and keep the great work!

07 July 2007, 11:11 AM
Interesting sketch. I like the idea of a machine with human behaviour (watching Oprah, resting...) Nice one. Good Luck!

07 July 2007, 02:46 PM
Hello Mike, that really great to see you in this challenge, and your concept is really cool, I hope to see the updates soon :)
Good Luck and Take Care,

I'll follow ur challenge :D

07 July 2007, 03:32 PM

icedeyes - thank you

The initial sketch looks quite impressive as it is, my only comment this far would be about the character blending with the background as mentioned before... Very promissing nevertheless, cool idea and for sure a stunning piece to be. Looking forward to seeing more!
