I'm working on new short film, here is a vehicle test animation, Please comments...


Also, now I'm trying to figure out, sand and dust simulation, but I'm still working on particle system in 3dmax, but I did not solve this problem yet. if anyone know dust plugin for max 4.2 please let me know..

Really cool texturing job! Wow :) Really cool design too!
The only thing that disturb me is the place of the middle tire... it seem it's not in the middle of the vehicule and it's strange :)

aaah yes, the M.J. dancing Mustafa Jackson. :-) He's got a vihicle now, cool. Anyways, the only problem I got with the vihicle is that every wheel to the same rust texture on it and it's very noticable.

Other then that, kick ass.

P.S. Luve your Mustafa Jackson, by the way. My whole family was highly entertained watching him dance. :-)

Excellent work, especially on texturing
I think you should bevel some edges because it's true it looks a bit too low polygons style.

You should give afterburn a try, I think it's avaible for MAX 4.2

yeah! Really cool, indeed!!

as some people said, you need to bevel some angles... But the textures are great, the only thing is that the material of the wheels looks more like stone than rubber...

keep it up!

Great.... excellent :cool: like they say in french tassez-vous de d'la, j'arrive!!! (get out of my way i'm coming through!!!) I see only two minor things: the tire texture is stretching a lot near the rim, and try to bevel the edge of the vehicule to get rid of the cg look,

really good work, nice design :)

ultra cool

try with illusion for the dust effect, some post after rendering
cool features are in this little app
other ways are too hard for the cpu i think/like afterburn or pyrocluster/

anyway great model

Bevel problem and wheels texture idea is true, I will be fix that things..

besides, here is my viewport screenshut and my configuration.

software: 3dmax4.2
hardware: AMD Athlon 1.2 - 512 ram - ATI rage pro,
render time: Each render 13 or 20 second, and 3dmax default scanline renderer, no brazil or something like that.

I was doing a search for Dust and Particle type of effect for Max when I stumbled across this link:

check out the plugins from Blur and see if they do the trick for you.

or check this link for english explanations:

Dust Devil sounds like what you are looking for.

I used this plugin before, but I need particle plugin for dust, this one for atmosphere effects.

actually i need, scatter effect of a sand.. now I'm working on it.

sorry about that.

there is always reactor from discreet. but my guess is that you are looking for something that is shareware or freeware no?

There should be a demo of reactor on your Max install CD. Give it a whirl and see if that does it for you.

i really like the way the car bahaves but i think the weels have to be a little bit more harder.
