View Full Version : Animation preferences - pairBlend

Is there anyone who know if you can set the behavior of how pairBlend are created on Maya 5?

For newer versions of Maya, at least from version 7 and up, there is a animation preference where you can set how pairblend / animation curves will interact. There is an optionVar called animBlendingOpt that governs how pairblends are created, that is changed when you change the preferences obviously. This variable seems to be present in Maya 5 aswell, but it doesnt seem to be attached to any functionallity!? Anyone stumbled across anything that is related to this?

I want maya NOT to create a pairBlend connection if i try to set a keyframe on a attribute that is controlled by a constraint. Rather just ignore to try and set a keyframe on that attribute altogether, like Maya 7 and up does with the right setting set. In some cases you could lock these attributes after you created your constaint, but if the object receving the constraint is from a referenced file then that does not work, for obvious reasons. Any ideas? Tips?
