View Full Version : making polygons

It appears to me that when one creates a NURB object in MEL one can specify its location (via the pivot point flag, "-p"), yet one cannot do that with a polygon object. Does anybody know of a way to create a poly at a particular position?

Also, is there a flag to add endcaps to a polyCylinder?

If there is a way to position a polygonal object from the command you're using to create it, then it is undocumented. As far as I can tell, there is no way to position a polyCylinder using the polyCylinder command. But you could always do something like this:

string $cylinder[] = `polyCylinder`;
xform -ws -t xpos ypos zpos $cylinder[0];

or the one line version:

xform -ws -t xpos ypos zpos `polyCylinder`;

As for your question about cylinder end caps. Again if there is a way to do it, it's not documented.
