View Full Version : any maya/mr tricks to generate alpha when inside mesh ?

i need a shader that is transparent when inside a given mesh
i have scrpited a shader in mel that do the trick, but it's a world of pain. rendering are absolutely too long to be acceptable.. right now i'm using mesh booleans, but it's too random to use it correctly..

anyone has seen this problem already?

What about using a double sided shader and assigning the "inside" an easily keyable color?
