We are thinking about getting vue here at work but we want to make our own plants. But from the reading you either need to buy libraries or buy a program to do it. Will Xfrog make custom plants that can then used in Vue to make eco-sys?

Yes, Xfrog can make full plants and they can be exported from Xfrog and used in Vue. That being said, Xfrog is a very complex program with a steep learning curve. If all you need are a few specific plants, buy them as individual plants (cornucopia3d and spinquad) or buy the libraries which have the plants in several different formats. They also sell the plants as billboards, which are great if they will be off in the distance.

Vue native plants are the only ones that will work with wind - so if you are doing animation and want moving plants, stick with vue's solidgrowth plants. There are some incredible detailed plants available at

I wouldn't say XFrog has a steep lerning curve. The documentation gives you the basics to get decent results prtty quick. Many online tuts vailable too. But as Peggy said, if you just need some ready made trees, buy them in the Vue format if you decide to get Vue, or in any other 3d format.
