Did anybody make rigging for a transformer?

I mean that the rigging is both for transforming and robot?

Is this rig separate ? One for transforming and other for robot ?

Could anybody give me a good idea?

It's so kind of you !

Thanks a lot!

Throw ik out the window.
Use grouped objects parented to bones which are parented to the main node. (null object or helper)
Use set driven keys on separate groups and as you move them to rotate by 90 degrees to fit each new position.
(Each new position would have to be [should be] recorded, (scripted) so you could go back to it. )
Each 'event' can be setup on a slider, so as you moved the slider from left to right, (or an expression which may be best for this), it would go through each rotation, one by one, until it is finished.

... just a guess..
good luck.

*(actually ik can work if you limit each rotation so it doesn't make the geometry pass through itself)...* ... and make sure to turn on motion blur to like 100 like the Transformers trailers. j/k
