View Full Version : Can toon outlines be reflected?

Not sure if I'm missing a setting or something. I have a reflective surface, and an object with toon shader + toon outlines. The outlines are not shown in the reflected material when rendered.

I know that when using the contour shader with mental ray there are a few options to effect how the outlines appear in the reflections. Check your level settings within the shader. I know there are multiple contour shader nodes so i don't remember which one has it. Minium and Maximum settings affect the appearance of lines. When Min =1 and Max =1 you will not see reflections. if you Min=1 and Max=2 you will see it in the reflections. if the min =2 then only reflected surfaces will recieve the contours. If you are utilizing refractions you might need higher settings. Hope this helps. :)
