View Full Version : Increasing Frame Area without changing perspective of camera

Does anyone know the technique for increasing the overall frame area of a rendered frame without changing the perspective of the original frame. Basically i need to add more background to an animation without changing my shot.

Thanks for any help

use the render globals. Just make your camera wider, or taller. depending on your needs.

If you turn on the action safe tile, you can see the frame size change while you are still in the render globals tab.

That's not going to work if aspect ratio needs to remain constant.

Also, I just tried it, and Maya crops top/bottom but not left/right when you change the Image Size.

So it looks like you have to change the field of view.

Select your camera and in the attribute editor change the "Pre Scale size" It moves everything closer or further without changing the rest of your camera settings. Hope this helps!
