Hi guys

am going to assemble a machine for my office,

a bit confused about what hardware i should purchase.... and am sure i will find the solution here...i've planned for a xeon 2.8G with 1 gig of Memory, 2 80Gigs SCSI HDDs, NVIDIA Quadro4 XGL ...
main tasks will be 3D and a little bit of Video Editing...

Thanx in advance

What application? And whats the budget?

Quick notes...SCSI doesn't really do much for CG...and if your just dabbling in video you can easily get away with an IDE config...that would shave off almost 750 USD from the system price, and quadruple the amount of space available....allowing you to buy faster processors, or more ram. (2 gigs would be preffered)

thanx GregHess

thanx for the advice, as i said that was in my mind but ur right i should prefer more memory over capacity... but capacity requirement is due to Video Editing.... would 80Gig be enough?

and my budget is of 2700$.. will mostly use Maya, After Effects, Premiere and Shake.

Thanx Again
