Never did this kind of thing before, but i really liked the idea for this challenge, so i'm in.:bounce:
I'll try to make it a night scene.

a suggestion..if that thing down with yellow dots is a landing pad, it'd look way better if u had one of those "Bays" where ships docked into the rocks...since most of your base is in the ock itself..it would look pretty good.:cool:

Well, i started to model the buildings in 3d, this is the upper-left one, it'll be some kind of lab.
I'll add more "floors" to it, it seems very small now. And It doesn't look a alien thing to me.
So, tell me what you think about it.:wavey:

The lab looks kind of a submarine tower to me :) But nobody says that those aliens don´t like vintage design :D
The important bit is to make the different structures of the outpost similar in design and style, after all, they were made by the same species.
As Buggy166 said, i also think that most part of the buildings in your image must be vertical and layd down in the wall of stone, so take that in consideration when building the lab.
I like the spherized design of your first sketch.
