Hey guys, have you seen this? - http://www.claus-figuren.de/tutorials/radiosity/
Just wondering if anyone has tried this in Maya. He is using mental ray with softimage, but its basically the same thing as in maya, so i wonder if there is a way to do it. Any Ideas?

Mental ray can bake to vertices in maya. If you subdivided your scene as he did you could bake GI to the vertices and achieve a similiar result.

Hey rygoody, have you done this before, or know how to do it? I am unsure on how to go about doing that. Any info would help. Thanks.

You go to Lighting/Shading > Batch bake (Mental Ray) in the rendering menu set. Then in the drop down menu where it says 'bake to' select vertices instead of texture.

Then if you go to Color in the polygons menu set theres a bunch of little things in their to help you deal vertex color sets.
