I've been looking for a way to test the presence of particles inside a volume, for a number of reasons, but the closest I've come is a large array of UDeflector objects with slices of the object in question, but it's slow and doesn't look too well since there are intervals inside the object where no collision is detected. So I'm wondering if there's any way to do a volume test short of scripting... is there such a possibility in max, or do I have to polish my mediocre maxscript skills to pull it off?

Group Selection operator from Box#1 http://www.orbaz.com/products/particleflow/box1/groups/ can do exactly that.
