View Full Version : How do I animate the character to breathe?

Hey guys,

I have a general question and excuse me if it is a stupid one..

I have a mail box that I have built, this mail box contains 3 main bones, I want to animate the mailbox as though it is breathing what do I need to do? create a dummy and link the middle bone to it? Link them all? No matter what I don it doesn’t seem to come out right, any thoughts on the matter would be highly appreciative

i wouldnt use bones, i would link constrain the mailbox to the pole, then add a bend modifier to the pole with center set slightly up , then bend the pole back with the mailbox animated with some modifier, for example create the breath-in look of the mailbox, and use morph modifier. there are also other ways to do that kind of animation, as i wrote before, i wouldnt use bones, but that's just me.
