View Full Version : repeat a command in script editor?

Do you know if there's any key for Maya's script editor you can press to get the commands you've already typed it? I've tried the arrows and Fx, but can't find it.

If you want history for your commands use the command shell (Window->General Editors->Command Shell)

For bigger scripts use an IDE (UltraEdit for Example)

Or look on Highend3D for advanced Scripting Plugins

On both linux and windows, if I accidentally erase the code I'm typing in the script editor, pressing ctrl-z usually brings back the last thing I typed.

great, using the command shell, means I can use the up arrow to repeat the last command, thanks :)

Does anyone know if there's an option in the script editor that keeps the script you have written in the lower part of the window, even if you press enter to execute it?
I know this can be done by pressing "Ctrl+A" to select all the script and then enter, but is there a setting to make the script not going away everytime you execute it by default?

if needed we can have customized shortcut to source scripts which is in the script editor ... to reset scripteditor or clear stuff too... I mean there are some flags for the scriptEditor cmd, try to code using them...

(or) try jedit ( i use crimson editor, i have not tried jedit so far, but ck if its useful )
