Hi guys! I want to share with you my last matte.
I'm not a pro, but I'm trying to improve my skills :)

Something is wrong in my matte isn't it? I can't see what's wrong.....
I would be very grateful if someone could helpe me to see the light

Thanks in advice!

nice one. just one comment: on a cludy sky like that, u'll never have hard elongated shadows. try to loose them and will be perfect.

A houase with pink roof and pink courtain is creepy? Things are changing i see...

Hey an idea with those hard shadows might be to incorporate some sort of lightning element. You know as if it was illuminating the house some - hence the shadows. Anyway just thinking out loud!

Thank you guys!
Yes the shadows / illumination is wrong, so I'll try to delete the hard shadows to match with the sky.
Hopefully is going to work better.

Hi guys!
I did a concept for this matte. A little late......

So, what do you think? Now the composition looks better isn't it?
Any advice?

Thank you!

greta, it was really good the work you did on the shadows, the mood is also great , and the second one looks more cinemtic,
I would work more on the fooliage down the house, it looks so well cut,and linear, try to break that perfection

Thank you james!

You're right, I'll try to break the foreground foliage
I'm looking for a more cinematic feeling, so I'll do it like the "concept"

Thanks man!

Hey looking really nice :)

Slight scale issue around the stairs maybe. Personally i think the original photo is the freakiest version :)

The last image is a very rough concept, right now I'm working on the final version, with more attention to the detail :)

I'll post the new WIP in a couple of days

Thank you anyway man!

Here we go
A little update.

The image looks very flat?

Maybe you can create some trees/foliage or props around the left side of the image, in the foreground and background, this might give it a lot more depth.

Thanks dell!
Yes I'm working on this part.

Is not the final version, but now it's close to the final version
C&C are very welcome :bounce:

Looking well, i feel that the side of the houses needs a little perspective maybe, it seems to run flat with the front, not sure, mmmm. Also darkening down the side as it heads further back might help to pull a little depth, in a gradient.

Looks good like this.
Just try to add the glow to the window again and it's gonna look sweet. Or creepy I should say.

cool house, it is indeed becoming very creepy looking :)

05 May 2007, 12:57 PM
your last wip is by far the best, it "should" be the final version

...BUT *g* i still see some few hard shadows in the middle of the house (especially on the rooftop) and i think it is no bad idea to establish some semi-transparent fog/mist on the ground, that should help you to get some more depth into your matte.

alltogether quite really good work, i like it! :)
