View Full Version : GameArt Comp #3 Judging volunteers
03-12-2003, 01:41 AM
this thread will be used to find our volunteer judges. We need
4-10 people who would not enter the competition, but would like to participate as judges.
As a judge you will need to view the entire thread
"Gameart Comp #3 Submissions"
which will be created during the last week of march
Once the deadline is reached (April 1st 12:00am GMT), each judge will cast 3 votes for the entries they like the most based on visual franchise appeal, technical execution, and adherence to the competition guidelines. They will also give brief comments as to what they liked about the entries they chose and why they voted as they did. The entry with the most votes will be declared the winner.
Every judge has 1x5 points/votes, 1x3 and 1x1 to distribute among 3 submissions. The sum of the points determines the winner. Simple.
dont be shy, hit reply and feel free to volunteer! First 10 will be used.

Shy I am, but I think I could do it.
still I'd need to have some serious reading to the contest outlines
is there any thing needed, like... Quality prof? or... work experience to be a judge?
03-12-2003, 01:57 AM
work experience is a plus.. but with 10 judges its fine if we mix it up with newbies and the experienced folk.
Ill put you down as our first judge, watch for the submission thread next week. comp ends 1st of april, thats when youll post your points/comments in the judging thread. thanks!

just a side note to all you freaks here in the game art section :)...
the challenges are there for us game junkies too...
nowhere in the rules of the challenge does it say it has to be hi-poly...
I say we all crash the main challenge after our personal one here and show them some game artists can hold their own too!
what do ya think? [perhaps I should start another thread for this]
