04 April 2007, 10:10 PM
Wonderful work. I love it.

04 April 2007, 09:37 AM
That is excellent. I really like the cyclical nature of the piece.

Well done

04 April 2007, 09:04 PM
Although this is a small project for me,however,I am at the same time planning a loopable exhibition version...

04 April 2007, 10:59 PM
That was a pleasure to watch. Very well done.

Take care,

04 April 2007, 11:20 PM
that was great :)
really liked it.
my only crit would be that i thought the camera moves a little funny for a second just before/as the "smoke" starts coming out of the crater, but its minor.
Good work

04 April 2007, 12:19 AM
Awesome motion graphics work.

Could you write a little bit about the process you used to make it?
How did you use Max and AE together to create this short?

Keep it up!

04 April 2007, 01:12 AM
Thats was really cool man! The Compositing is nice. One of the best Mo-Graphs I've seen all year.

04 April 2007, 01:16 AM
That was incredible

04 April 2007, 01:27 AM
Beautiful work! Very well executed.

I love these animations where you can breathe the story and explore more and more as you watch. Very intense, very cool! from me without a question

04 April 2007, 01:29 AM
Interesting and unique! :)

(Personaly, though, I'm a techy so its against my idology :p
The rise of technology...specificaly Augmented Reality...will drasticaly reduce mankinds ecological footprint as our need for physical products evaporates. If mankind is too destroy itself it will be by religeon, racism, bigatory and other forms of divisionary thinking. I know I'm in the minority, at the moment technology is the pains of the world rather then the cure it will become.)

04 April 2007, 02:18 AM
i like it!

you show the flow of time and the circle of life through the work. very good one.

04 April 2007, 03:27 AM
Thats excellent - love the strong aggressive sounds and the combination of watery smoke effects with sharp graphics - well done :)

04 April 2007, 06:00 AM
Great work and it's good to see something meaningful and not the usual visual show-off without any idea behind.

As for the short description you wrote, I personally wouldn’t be as optimistic. It’s very likely we won’t be able enter another industrial cycle. This quote from Sir Fred Hoyle is one of the most striking and depressing things I have ever read.

We have or soon will have, exhausted the necessary physical prerequisites [necessary for maintaining a high-level civilization] so far as this planet is concerned. With coal gone, oil gone, high-grade metallic ores gone, no species however competent can make the long climb from primitive conditions to high-level technology. This is a one-shot affair. If we fail, this planetary system fails so far as intelligence is concerned. The same will be true of other planetary systems. On each of them there will be one chance, and one chance only. (Hoyle, 1964)

It remindes me a bit on Robert Seidels _grau

I love this kind of Films

04 April 2007, 08:30 AM
Loved the video, really nicely done,

only one major thing that botherd me that was that after the explosion you got a sort of iris looking smoke lines, but it was all static, would be nice if there was motion in them, the dynamic of your movie just comes to a halt there,

but really enjoyed it loved the story you told, a true circle..

04 April 2007, 09:15 AM
Indeed , we are good at screwing up our environment.
But how many chances do we get ?

04 April 2007, 02:34 PM
"The rise of technology...specifically Augmented Reality...will drasticaly reduce mankinds ecological footprint as our need for physical products evaporates."

Since the advent of Personal Home Computing, Paper Production and Usage has tripled.

So much for the paperless office.

As one previously said this is more than just visuals with no strong ideea/concept behind it.. I like the message too. :) good work. Was afx(+)max scripting used ? Could you upload it with better quality ?

04 April 2007, 04:25 PM
really interesting, loved the section of a pan with suggestions of water.

really nice work.

04 April 2007, 05:41 PM
It's so refreshing to see something like this. Something deep...abstract, that actually communicates some modicum of thought. Something more than just an image to crtique technically....which is what most of the work on here is.

Excellent work. Luv it.

04 April 2007, 08:59 PM
I will always applause for people who use their technical and artistic skills to communicate their views in such subjects.
Very well done for this project, I wish you the best for your future work.

04 April 2007, 05:27 AM
Very impressive and refreshing!

I realy liked the last part:thumbsup:

04 April 2007, 01:02 PM
liked it alot, although the effect is pretty worn out.
And it would have been better if things would "grow" or appear different from time to time. It felt as if everything was just growing into a certain direction and then into different angles, the plants for example could have appeared softer or in a different manner than the weapons and undustry stuff...

nevertheless good work.

is there a download link somewhere?

I think there are some very good points being made here. My initial thinking is to keep the sequence move simple, and telling the whole without disturbance by the simplicity. But when watched it many times I almost ignored all the repeated and almost tacky motion. Ummm, after being away from the video and watch it now by fairly fresher eyes, I think I agree with some of the comments above.

04 April 2007, 09:16 AM
wow, this looks really cool. I love the sound design too.
but I sure hope the end won't be that near ;)
anyway, I think you got really fast from the first steps of man to the industrial revolution, but then world war II is an extremely long section... of course, art is free to emphasize whatever it wants... but anyway, just from a logical point of view, if time gets increasingly slower as you progress towards the present day, why is just the wwII such a long section?

04 April 2007, 03:41 PM
Very nice piece.

As I understand, it's not WWII. It's just war i general..

04 April 2007, 03:53 AM
wtf...that was mind blowing! how did you do that?

04 April 2007, 06:20 AM
Congratulations on your film.
It's a stunner.
Incredible execution.

A doffed hat to you, sir.

04 April 2007, 07:22 AM
What a beautifully inspiring piece! It's a pleasure to watch!
Looks like it was tons of work, but I think it was worth it!

04 April 2007, 12:43 PM
Thats some strong piece of art!
The visuals convey your message in a superb way

5 stars for you!

04 April 2007, 02:14 PM

04 April 2007, 02:36 PM
Good work man!

04 April 2007, 05:16 PM
One of the things we do not see much of is mo graphics! I always wondered how that effect was done! We definately need tutorials on you did this.

Great work! Very nicely done. I'd love to see your work flow!

04 April 2007, 05:33 PM
It's a great piece, in my opinion, when you know what it's about after watching it and before reading any commentary about it. Sweet piece!

04 April 2007, 11:05 PM
what plug-ins did you use in AE?

04 April 2007, 11:53 PM
Strange video... but very nice work...
