does anyone know where I can find a good neon light shader or a good way of making a neon looking strip light.... I'm fairly new to XSI and have a rush job on at the moment.

There's a shader at called ctrl_objectlights ( that allows you to create geometry that emits arealight (not FG, real light). I've had mixed success with it, but it's worth a shot... just remember it is an area light, so it has costly arealight sampling.

For an XSI version, look here:

Do you really need a 'light'?
If you're in such a rush, it may be easier to use FG in a scene containing an object with a constant white material as your neon light. This will provide illumination and although not as physically accurate as a light, will certainly get the idea accross.
