Wecome to the competition. Good luck!
I saw from your portfolio that you have laptop for doing 3D stuff. What kind of laptop? I'm just interested, as I got my superlaptop recently for creating art and 3D :)

Thank you SpetsK and good luck to you too! let's enjoy this.
I have a DELL inspiron 9400, intel core duo, 2gb RAM, nVidia 7900, 100Gb Sata HD, 17" WXSGA LCD @ 1920x1200.
I'm pretty happy with it, I do not regret my buy, but unfortunately I bought it too soon and I have a core duo and not a core 2 duo. I will eventually need to change it, but for the moment I'm very satisfied.

AAH...today I had some free time...cleaning is in progress...I need some rest 'cos I cannot see the errors anymore. let me know if you spot them ;)...still have to finish the floor too.

nice work painting out Francesco I think you need some contact shadows , maybe some lighting variation over the flor, like a gradient , it is too flat to me, I know it will gain detail as long as you add more elements but bye now I think it need these issues I mentioned

Very nice! The only thing I see besides the shadows are a couple of speakers on those pillars.

Thanks Jaime and love your images!
I still have lots to do..I hope to have time tomorrow.
Kzoiks: yep indeed..thanks...I haven't forgot them, but I was too blind to continue..I'll take them out tomorrow, I'll upload a little sketch too...I saw already coupple of ideas taken ...I wanna book mine.

ok...just got back from the morning business :D
I'm ending the cleaning...I have 2 new ideas for the matte...gonna post the sketches a bit later.
04-15-2007, 02:30 PM
Hey Francesco great job! I am digging the plate now hurry up and post some sketches!!
No rush, just cant wait :D
04-15-2007, 04:46 PM
it's coming...was a bit busy...I wanted to do two skatches..but got one 60% completed. ( still have nonsense thin in it...ex. under the arches..)
I'm going to put the millennium wheel in the background too.
This is on idea...frozen...very cold changes in clima..( even if the color of the original plate did drive me to the opposite idea....desert like. )
The second idea...will do sketch hopefully this evening, it's underwater :)....no ice left....water all over....
04-16-2007, 07:34 PM
Sorry I didn't finish the sketches...had no time today..
I'll be gone for a week...so no updates for a while....please don't work too much or I'll have hell of a time trying to ketch up....
04-24-2007, 05:40 PM
OK I'm back from NY.
WOW I saw some improved matte...I got to ketch-up....even if I'm not sure I can...I'm pretty new to Mattepainting.
Well, I started again: I'm trying to see the final image, so I set the images in, but not realy blend them...it's just to have an idea of what to do.
Here is the rough:
I Know..there is snow behind but not in front, the pieces on the ground are flat...it's just an overview so I can check the comp... :) tell me if you like it or if I'm completely out of the truck ( after all nobody replied to my sketch post )

hi man the subject is cool but some how london eye n tower is not fiting in.... 1st afall perspective and placement is not matching..... and just try making more play of light and ruines....... thats all
04-25-2007, 06:58 PM
Cool winter scene (pun intended).
Really nice look so far.
04-25-2007, 09:29 PM
I agree with the guy above, the tower does not look good at all, perspective is so wrong there,
a lot of contact shadows are needed in the foreground ruins and elements , I see the image so desaturated but in some lines I see a strong saturated blue/violet

Hi guys, thanks for the comments, but as I was saying, I'm just placing the objects inside to have an idea..I did not put any efford to merge them :)....well not yet.. I'm just trying ot visualize the final image so I know what to add or what is too much
