i know some of you guys are quite a bit ahead.
i undistorted the plate and started cleaning the floor. (

more to come

Nice to see an accurate approach, always good :)

Don't feel rushed by everyone else, to be honest it works out around two weeks per stage, so no rush really. The whole rabbit and tortoise story springs to mind :)

sorri peoplez. i got a freakin' eye infection and i fell back on my work as well as on this challenge. it burns looking at a screen right now. unfortunatly, i'm not even done cleaning the plate. but they gave me some i drops and i should be able to work with my eyes shut as well. i have only limited time i can spend infront of a screen, so i couldn't look what everyone else has been up to. sure as hell am behind a lot. matt and levi are probably done by now. i'll catch up once the white of my eye is somewhat white again and i met my other deadlines. sorri...

I broke my right hand about a year ago, and that was a very frustrating (and painful) experience. I recall saying the only thing worse would have been a damaged eye(s) (considering the silly obsession we are in). Get well soon ;)

thank you, leo. am getting better...
i'm sure everybody has been doing some research
but i thought i'd share some more info: ( ( (

Sorry to hear about your eyes! But glad to hear you're feeling better. Eye trouble is a pain seeing as one tends to be using them constantly. Rest 'em good!

Thanks for the reference images - good stuff.

Hope you're doing better and are able to rejoin us again soon.

04 April 2007, 05:39 PM
Hey hope you are feeling better and can continue

05 May 2007, 12:37 PM
thank you mark, sónia and linda. i was better, caught up on my concept work and even found some time to work on this. unfortunatly, my eyes had a fall back and i spent a night at the hospital emergancy room. since, i have been taking antibiotics and my vision was blurry all week. but life doesn't pause or wait for you.

however, i am not even done cleaning the plate yet. today i feel a bit better,
so i'll try to get some' done. thank you for your support.

05 May 2007, 01:18 AM
i cleaned up. but i'm sure people are sick of this image by now... (

05 May 2007, 02:14 AM
ahh yay you are back, feeling better I hope :) Now get busy and bust out with something that will make us all cry ha ha

05 May 2007, 08:15 AM
the plate was a bit too hot for me, so i decided to cool it down. (

05 May 2007, 05:48 AM
That's some great reference there! Blimey I wish I'd seen that when I was doing the clean plate part...

05 May 2007, 09:15 AM
as for reference, most of mine is cambodia
but i am most likely to combine the look with some yucatan. (

05 May 2007, 09:41 AM
Isn't that house in the roots great? I have that on my pc, can't remember what I was searching for at the time but came across that pic and thought it was so cool I had to save it :)

05 May 2007, 01:49 PM
linda - yes, agkor wat is amazing. and full with land mines around it, as i heard.

i extended a bit... (

the plate is currently 3208x3008px, which is going to change soon.

05 May 2007, 03:11 PM
pushing around composition at 1920x1080px (

05 May 2007, 06:37 PM
That's tasty. Nice idea and comp. No crits here.
Am I seeing a Mayan temple pyramid in the background?

05 May 2007, 09:04 PM
I like the whole comp. Very nice approach. Different to what I would have pictured. Feels pleasing to see sky. I very much like the style for the foliage right now, and i'm sure it will only get better, keep going!!! :)

it is saturday in tokyo and i noticed that the deadline got pushed to wednesday.
yes, quadart, mayan it is. i took a few min and through together some stuff... (

i'll probably get around to work a bit on this. so, i might even have a final entry. extending deadlines always helps. thanks, dave. but i don't think i'll have a cam move in this.

06 June 2007, 09:41 AM
great idea to open the sky like this.I'd change the perspective of the church the way you did for your sketch to give it a more massive feel. looking good so far, keep it up.

06 June 2007, 11:28 AM
Is that green on the building some kind of moss? (sorry, I can't magnify the pic ) The color is a bit too bright. Also, the plants behind the stairway arches should be in the shadow since they seem to be close to the building.
Other than that it's going well. :)

06 June 2007, 07:53 PM
thanx there marco and sónia. i am currently pushing pixels around 500mb file size. but i didn't get to work on this too much due to enjoying the nice weather a bit over the weekend. tomorrow ain' lookin' too goode 'cause i wanna go see pirates. i'll submit whatever i have wednesday... (

i messed wit it somewhat.
