This is my first character rig in Maya. Alls good except one big problem I faced was the forearm twist bones. The bind pose works fine but when move the character to the pose of the image I am uploading, there occurs a gimbal lock and the twist bones start rotating even when the hand is rotated in the Z axis (my local twist axis is X).
I had to ultimately (as seen in the .mb file to which I have mentioned the url below) had to create two rotation twist correction controls which had to be animated manually. Hope I was clear with my query. And please comment on the rig, would love some feedback. (i'm still working on the Smooth bind). My approach was mainly from the Art of Rigging techniques.
