View Full Version : Painting weights after rigging

After modelling and rigging a character, what would be the best way to paint the weights? Should I use the rig to move the model and see where I must paint, or should I disable the rig and rotate the joints directly?

And what about limiting the joints rotations? Should I limit the rig or the joints?

um d leave the controls, animate them doign things i.e movign an arm up and down and paint the weights while scrubbing in the tiem line. That way you can check your weighting as you go
