I have just moved from 5.5 to 7, and I'm thoroughly confused at the way the 'colour dodge' blend mode is behaving. In 5.5 I would paint a white stroke on a layer of its own, set the blend mode to colour dodge and make a new solid colour below in a background layer. By simply adjusting the opacity I could change the amount of 'dodging'. In PS7 it acts completely differently. I do the exact same process but it looks like the 'screen' mode, and when I adjust the opacity it doesn't work as it should either. I have a feeling this is due to the irritating 'advanced blending' parameters.
