Hello User Community,
I have inadvertently moved my manipulator handle to the cursor, and now I cannot move it back to my selection.
I have tried <Alt>Space and that didn't work.
I am working with blender 2.43
Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure I understand. The manipulator, when turned on, is located based on your current selection. Can you make a screenshot?

sounds like he hit "centre cursor", which would put tha maipulator there. Try hitting "centre new", with the object selected, and it should return to object center.

or try ctrl , this is the shortcut for median point. The key you pressed first was next to it, the .> key, which sets the pivot to the 3d cursor.
the pivot options are located at the bottom of the 3dview, next to manipulator and orientation/alignment.

Well it was quite simple:

It was the rotation/scale pivot button next to the draw type button on the bottom of the 3D view.

Thanks for all the help Freaky
